Review: Stick and Style Couture Hijab Pins and Accessories

Asalam alikoum ladies,

I am sorry for not posting lately it has been a crazy couple months so I so apologize.

During the summer I purcased a few hijabs pins from the lovely Laura over at Stick and Style Couture Hijab Pins and Accessories which is a new up and coming handmade hijab pin and accessories company. I purchased the pins during one of her promotions of 3 pins for $15. Laura's pins are lovely a lot of love goes into each and everyone as per being made by hand.

The first one I have purchased is this gorgeous deep purple stone with amethyst accents. It meausres 3 inches aprox.

Get this pin HERE

The next one I purchased is this stunning little beauty a light pink jeweled chandelier drop pin. I have to say this one is my favorite, and goes with just about everything whether formal or not. This as with the first both measure approximately 3 inches long. The stick pins are strong on this one as well and easily stays in place with a stopper.

Last but not least this beauty aprox 6 inches long, I thought it might be too much but this one is a lot of fun to dress up a casual hijab and outfit. The only downside on this is with the stick pin being so long it tends to bend, and bend on first time but its still sharp and I am able to wear it with no real trouble.

Would I recommend Stick and Style Couture hijab pins? YES absolutely the price is very reasonable, Laura is so sweet and easy to communicate with, initially I changed my mind a couple times on products and was very happy with the customer service. The quality is excellent not to mention its fun having a unique item.

Which ones do you like? How would you wear them?

Product Review - Guzel Boutique

Back in May I had attended First Women's Annual Conference at Dar El Eman Mosque in south Arlington Texas. While I was working as a vendor there for my hijab business, I met two of the sweetest sisters who happened to have a table next to mine sister Arzu and Safae from Guzel Boutique. To be honest throughout the day I was oohing and awing over their beautiful Turkish hijabs, their style, and their amazing customer service. Being a huge fan of Turkish designs and especially of the laseri design I was squealing in delight ( internally of course) when I noticed they had some for grabs, along with a stunning array of clothing. So needless to say when there was a lull at my table I headed on over to see what they had up for grabs and I must say it was a hard choice as literally EVERYTHING they had available was stunning. I ended up settling on a gorgeous animal print laseri hijab and a lovely floral Turkish square hijab also from their boutique.

Personally I love my laseri scarf from Guzel Boutique, it's extremely soft and silk smooth, but has staying power if you can wrap well no pins are even needed with this stunning hijab. I love the texture of this hijab it will offer a very clean classic look to any outfit whether your dressing formal or casual. The length and width for me are perfect as well not being too short or too long, and neither too wide or too narrow. I absolutely love the unique look to this hijab and it will be a staple in my scarves for many days to come.

The ONLY downside I have seen wearing this hijab ( I have worn it about 5 times so far) for those familiar with Turkish hijab styles is the peak. If you want a peak with this style I would highly recommend to use a plastic form to create the peak then spray the hijab with a firm hold hair spray. If you do not like the peak then you can easily wrap the scarf flush against your head.

If you like this hijab and want to get oen for yourself or someone else you may purchase it from their website for $30.00 HERE!

Additionally if you are not a fan of animal print you can also find other options available in laseri style shawls by going Here! The range in prices from $25-30. I know some of you may be saying the price is too high but believe we the quality of their products supersedes the price, it is a purchase you will be happy with for many years to come.

Turkish laseri hijab- Guzel Boutique $30.00
Black Tunic - Rabia Z $89.95

The other stunning Hijab I purchased is a Turkish hijab measuring approx 95 x 95cm or approx 35 inches x 35 Inches. This hijab is branded Fonsera Istanbul and made of 100% Polyester with beautiful black piping all the way around the exterior of the hijab. Honesty I was quite surprised seeing it is made from polyester. This hijab is extremely soft and silky smooth giving a very classy and refined look to any outfit. Personally I am not the most expert wrapping the squared hijab so for me I do require pinning. I had worn this hijab all day which it stayed in place, never felt hot, and I cannot even begin to tell you how many compliments I was getting from strangers on this scarf asking where I got it.

Sadly this floral hijab does not seem to be available on their website, but you can get a variety of other turkish hijabs from there by visiting HERE.

I HIGHLY recommend to buy some gorgeous clothing, hijab, shoes, or handbags from Guzel Boutique, your money will be very wisely spent on a high quality item that will last you for a very long time. Aside from the scarves I would like to also mention how highly I think of the sisters running Guzel Boutique, their friendliness and customer service far exceeded most companies that I have dealt with.

Turkish Floral hijab - Guzel Boutique $20.00
Inner Jersey Hijab - Rabia Z. $24.95
Peach/Beige Tunic -  Rabia Z. $89.95

Mineral foundation - Beauty From The Earth Cosmetics $12.00
Eye shadows - Beauty from The Earth Cosmetics  $6.50
Eye Liner - Sephora $8.00
Lipstick - Sephora $12.00
Lip gloss - Clinique $15.00

What do you think of these hijabs? Have you purchased yours yet from Guzel?

Subhanhijabs.com Product Review

Asalam alikoum ladies,

Back in March I and one other sister were chosen from several entries on Subhan Hijabs Facebook Fan Page to receive a few lovely products courtesy of Subhan Hijabs as well as I was gifted a very beautiful maxi from one of my dear friends from the same company.

For those of you who are not familiar with Subhan hijabs they are a Canadian based hijab company out of Toronto Canada. They offer a wide range of lightweight hijabs, as well as a variety of underscarves and gorgeous jewelry to complete your entire look at what I must say are extremely affordable prices.

I was sent in March 3 hijabs, 1 satin bonnet under scarf, and 1 pair of white half length sleeves. Unfortunately I did not take photos of a couple of the products before I donated them to some local sisters.

I recieved a very lovely Pastel Blue Plain Crinkled Scarf. Which is a very ample 70 x 45 inches it is made of a viscose material. It is currently on sale on their website for a very low $6.00. Sadly I did not take a photo of it before gifting it to another sister as I already had a lot of blue hijabs. However here is a photo of the product from their website.

Get it HERE!!!

Another one of the hijabs I received as my winning prize is the Girly Girl hijab it is made of a very soft viscose material so its perfect for our hot Texas weather in Summer. I feel the coverage its perfect for me its not too long nor too short. The thing I really love with this hijab is its versatility as it can be styled many ways it goes will with neutrals or with your pinks blues and purples also. This scarf measures 66.9 inches and is 23.6 in width with a very low cost of only $7.50!!

See this hijab modeled below which is paired with a beautiful designer Rabia Z top from her Ruby Collection Get it HERE
To purchase the Girly Girl Hijab go HERE!!

Another one of the hijabs I received though this was gifted to me by one of my dear sisters is the African Safari hijab in Olive, I cannot say enough how much I love this hijab the colors, how lightweight and comfortable it is to wear esp on hot days. Due to its length and width it offers a multitude of ways to be styled and played with. It is $8.00 and its dimensions are 66.9 inches long and 43.3 inches wide so this is great for the sisters who like either/or coverage and volume, it will give you both! This hijab is made of Polyester while not as soft as the Girly Girl hijab above I do love it equally.

See it modeled here: Again I have paired it with my all time favorite Rabia Z top which you can grab HERE

To Purchase the African Safari hijab in Olive you can get it here!!! They also have the same style available in a beautiful yellow so be sure to check them both out.

In short would I recommend them? Heck YES! I would have to be crazy not too!! They have extremely reasonable prices as well as great quality for the price. I love that they offer a flat rate shipping fee no matter how much you buy so you don't have to worry about getting stuck with paying a lot in shipping especially for some of you girls who may live overseas as there fee is only 10.50 CAD for anywhere in the world!! I was extremely impressed with shipping speed, and the very friendly customer service with how quickly I was responded too with any questions.

Go get yours Today!!!

Donate A Hijab Program

Asalam alikoum sisters!

I wanted to let you know of a program started by sister Reem Saenz from the  Dallas Fort Worth Area Mashallah! Sister Reem has started Donate A Hijab Program. This was originally started to help sisters in the Monterrey Mexico area as there is a real lack of Hijabs and Islamic clothing and has developed into helping sisters in other communities as well Mashallah.
There has been a demand for sisters in areas where there may not be a large selection of Islamic clothing. The Donate a Hijab program is a NON PROFIT program that will enable to help Muslimah converts all over the world to get a hijab and proper Islamic wear.

Book Review: Temple of the LION - The Darius Chronicles Vol.1 By Abdullah Kirk

Anyone who knows me well knows I enjoy a good read, and that I LOVE animals especially lions. I was very pleasantly pleased with my newest read the first published book of brother Abdullah Kirk. For those that attend Sunnahfollowers you will know him as one of our dear brothers in Islam and husband to sister Carmetta mashallah.
Okay back to topic. This book absolutely had me on the edge of my seat from the very first page through. This book depicts the story of several tribes of Lions throughout the earth over several generations. There are many lessons learned throughout the book and you can feel and see the writers merging Islam in its pure form and how innovations evolve through the dying out of the prophets, scholars and diyeen. It starts out with the story of a young Lion Maysa and her one survive cub Darius who is annointed at the next Diyeen to revive the pure religion and bring everyone back to the pure worship of Alahad. The story is primarily centered around Darius from a cub into adulthood and beyond during his term as Diyeen and the struggle he goes through to unite all the tribes as one throughout the earth.
For those who love action it has it, for those who love history it has it, for those that love sadness, happiness, love it has it all. This book runs ever gamut of emotions.

My recommendation: BUY THIS BOOK!!!

I recently came across a absolutely amazing website for some gorgeous hijabi friendly pants due to my amazing friend and sister Anna (you know who you are and I love you girl), on the website they sell pants, caftans, skirts, and much more. Just take a look at these lovely items, these are stylish, cool, comfortable, and moreover these are appropriate for the Muslim ladies whether in the home or out an about as they are not form fitting.

The only thing I am disappointed in is the lack of colors but I have to say the style is stunning.

I have purchased these lovely Green Palazzo pants and will review them soon:

Asalam alikoum ladies! Welcome to my blog I certainly hope you all will like what I do post about. Finally in the land of bloggers..I know I know where have I been living!? Under a rock I suppose, many times thinking I am the only one yet who is not and thinking to myself okay I'm going to and never did..Well those days are no more I am now Officially in the land of blogging..whether I will LOVE or HATE it yet we will have to see. I am super excited but in the same time still learning the ins and outs of blogging so please be patient with me ladies. :)

Fashion and Beauty is one of my great passions. I strongly believe that Muslim women should be beautiful. Allah is beauty and he wants us to be beautiful and colorful as well.I am always searching and looking out for what I would term trendy hijabi..something that is appropriate for the Muslimah ladies yet beautiful, fashionable, and trendy.Whether its a extra long and wide skirt, or wide flared legged pants, to a colorful and beautiful top or maxi dress. Don't get me wrong I love my abayas, but sometimes we want a little more punch of color and pattern. I hope to blog and suggest ways of using some of the latest styles and merging them with appropriate Muslimah looks for a beautiful, classy, and modest look.

In my blog I hope to open up ideas to new converts to Islam and ones who have been Muslim all their life ideas for what may make good hijab outfits and accessories, whether from My Shop , from other sister's online stores, in a book or magazine, in a local shop, etc. Any and all Muslim sisters who wear hijab know it can be a daily struggle to get it right to look modest. beautiful, and in the same time look fashionable. As a Muslimah living in the west we are walking a fine line in our desires to be modest and obey Allah swt commandments yet in the same time be fun, fashionable, and colorful wardrobe. I understand not ALL of the sisters like to wear Abayas, personally I find them elegant and sophisticated esp when speaking of beautiful embellished Abayas that we are now seeing coming out of the Middle East, and now thankfully even American companies are offering some very stylish abayas and caftans.

Looking forward to blogging and hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

Asalam alikoum sisters,

Malinda - AKA..The Trendy Hijabi
